A few weeks ago my partner fell at home and dislocated their shoulder.
I dropped him at the Box Hill Hospital Emergency Department triage desk and went to park my car.
It took me 10 minutes to park and return to the department. In that time my partner had been seen by the triage nurse and was almost finished with the clerical staff.
I was directed to take them to short stay. The nurse, Sydney, was waiting for them. My partner was welcomed, seen by the doctor and Sydney and had been administered pain relief within 10 minutes.
My partner had an X-ray and the shoulder back in place within approximately 1 hour of arriving at hospital.
The staff that cared for my partner were kind and clear about what the plan was and they felt in safe hands.
The only complaint regarding the experience was about my driving on the way to hospital.
