My child has just had a double lung transplant. Though we have the utmost admiration and gratitude for the care that our child is receiving I am appalled at, what I believe to be, antisocial behaviour coupled with vandalism we have had to endure for the past two days in this common waiting area.
I feel it is unacceptable to have to ring the bell at ICU to request for security to attend. They have the responsibility of looking after our loved ones, who shouldn't have to deal with security issues. The same rules should apply to everyone visiting this hospital. Surely bringing a dog into the hospital should not be allowed, neither should intoxicated visitors!
I feel urgent consideration should be given to increased security at this facility both for staff, patient and visitor safety and to ensure that this state of the art modern hospital can be maintained for the benefit of all who require its services.
