I had a gas bottle explode and suffered burns. The Ambulance Service was excellent and so was the initial Emergency Department care. However I had no referral or consultation with the Fiona Stanley Burns Unit. Upon having my wound dressed at Broome Hospital only part of the burns were dressed and with Inadine and sticky plaster which pulled a large amount of skin off when removing.
Upon presenting to another Emergency Department for dressing they were shocked at what had been put on the burns and I was also not given any advice on what to put on my face for the flash burns.
