My teenage child underwent Cardiothoracic surgery at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH) recently. I was apprehensive for the surgeon to do the operation at SCGH due to my child's age. I am a Registered Nurse myself, and so probably very picky with nursing care.

I was impressed on many occasions with the level of care, interactivity, concern and professionalism given to my child at SCGH. They were treated as a mature young person and I was respected as both a parent and a nurse. Thank you for making their surgery such a supportive experience for them, and me.

Thank you for taking the time to share your appreciation of all the staff involved in your child's care during your time at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. We aim to treat all patients with kindness, respect and dignity and your feedback is valued by us all.

It is good to hear that you experienced excellent support from the Cardio Thoracic Team involved in your child's care whilst they were undergoing surgery here at SCGH. It must have been a daunting experience for you both and I am glad that you were treated with respect.

I will share your compliment with the Team so that they know the difference that their care made and how much it was appreciated by you.

I do hope that your child is recovering well.
