"Waiting a month to see a doctor"

About: Exmouth Health Service

(as the patient),

Having to wait a month to see a doctor for an appointment seems to me like something from the olden days or a third-world country. But in Exmouth I feel that is the reality.

Either that or feel like a fool and go through the Emergency Department.

Dear novemberys67,

Thank you for taking the time to write to us with your concerns about long waiting times for GP appointments at Exmouth Hospital. I appreciate that you have provided us with this feedback and am sorry to hear that you have needed to wait up to a month for an appointment.

Exmouth Hospital does aim to minimise wait times for our GP service, with increased staffing during the tourist season from April to October, however, we understand that there are occasions where people may have to access the Emergency Department for GP type care.

Your feedback is important to us and we would value being able to continue this conversation. If you would like to contact us, please phone or email Tamara Sweeney, Operations Manager Gascoyne, on 9941 0301 or Tamara.Sweeney@health.wa.gov.au. Alternatively, you can contact me on 9956 8695 or liz.kelly@health.wa.gov.au.

Kind regards

Liz
