(as the patient),

I recently gave birth to our first child at Central Gippsland Health. 

In the days leading up to the birth, including labour, delivery and the first week postpartum, the staff were nothing short of amazing.  

I would like to give a special thanks to the midwives who looked after us - Venesa, Janella, Kellie, Jane, Courtney and Chloe. You all went above and beyond to ensure we received the best care and advice and I feel this has set us up to confidently care for our baby. You have all left me with a new appreciation for the amazing work you do.

It delights me as the Unit Manager of Women’s and Children's to read your post. Ensuring patients are at the centre of care is a Central Gippsland Health focus.

The Journey through pregnancy and birth and preparing for the role as a parent is such an important time. On Women’s and Children's our team value the opportunity to be able to provide support and care to families throughout this time. Being able to support families through their pregnancy, birth providing a positive experience and helping prepare them to feel confident as a family to care for their babe is an ultimate aim. Your story recognises this and acknowledges those that have been very much part of achieving the ultimate aim of the team. I will take much pleasure in sharing your story with them and thanking the staff personally on both yours and my behalf. Your kind words and acknowledgement will further inspire them to continue their great work.

It is also important to us that adequate supports are in place if needed as families begin their new role as parents. Please do not hesitate in contacting me if we can support you in any other way. I trust it is a busy but exciting time for you as new parents and wish you and your family the very best.
