I broke my finger playing netball. I went to St Vincents and was referred to Sydney Hand Clinic. I've recently been discharged and thought the service was very good, specifically:
- They called me very promptly following the referral, within days.
- Very polite and helpful staff on reception, one lady in particular (name began with T) had a great memory and was always one step ahead, and super efficient.
- I saw different doctors each time but they were always very thorough and informative.
- I had regular X-rays, which were easy to do because the X-ray office was just downstairs and the staff there were also great.
- I had regular appointments with the hand therapists (Elaine, Jade and Amy) and they were also fabulous. Very clear with recovery instructions and providing me with comfortable splints.
- My file followed me everywhere, the system is very smooth and each team were very good at adding notes each time I saw someone.
- The hand clinic is busy, but the waiting area is comfortable, with enough room for everyone.
I thanked the team in person on my last visit but would like this feedback to be known more formally, because they are doing a great job - and as a result, I can use my hand again!
