Just want to say a massive thank you to all the doctors, nurses and staff that work in the Emergency Department at Geraldton Regional as well as members of the public who helped us after we had a traumatic event with our baby today.
I had my baby on my lap while we rushed to the hospital and so many people pulled over to let us past and we got there so much faster thanks to them.
Once there the staff took us straight through and cared for my baby and comforted me without missing a beat.
There was a lovely aboriginal elder who helped my spouse in the waiting room as they noticed and comforted my spouse them as they were also distressed. This person then helped my spouse get through to us.
The Nurses, of course, were just amazing, bringing us drinks and snacks for me and my baby and a beautiful little hand-knitted doll. Especially thanks to travelling nurse Kylie from Busselton who stayed with me until everything was back to normal. I would have been even more of a mess if it wasn't for her.
My baby is perfectly fine now and has bounced back amazingly, just as babies do, but at a horrible time the staff at the hospital were just phenomenal, and I am so emotional and forever grateful to them for everything they have done for us today.
