My spouse who has recently had a transplant went to the Emergency Department of the Wonthaggi Hospital as they were emotionally a mess. The staff there were amazing. The doctors did everything possible to help my spouse. In the end, they called the South West Gippsland Mental Health and Community Services. We had a lovely lady named Terry who came and saw my spouse and helped them enormously. They kept them in for 2 nights.
When my spouse was leaving the doctor (I think his name is George) came in and told them if they need help just to come in. And the nurses all said to my spouse, you are not in this alone, we are here to help you. These words from the doctor and nurses meant so much to my spouse.
I also want to thank Mandy from your transport department for her excellent help when my spouse needed transport for appointments.
A great hospital is only as good as the staff there. And the Wonthaggi Hospital has some amazing staff from the tea ladies to the doctors.
