My elderly parent has spent a lot of time in this hospital over the past several years. They have received brilliant care from all the staff that have treated them.
The treating doctors have been incredibly supportive and compassionate and organised treatments, interventions, operations and procedures to alleviate pain, help my parent to walk again and give them back quality of life.
The nursing staff that looked after my parent were always patient and treated them with respect and kindness.
I felt the physio and occupational therapists were brilliant and understanding even when my parent was in pain and didn't want to comply.
We have seen a lot of changes in the Food Services Department and may I take this opportunity to thank you for the new way of patient meal ordering. It seems smooth and streamlined and extremely efficient for the patients. I believe the food selection is amazing and caters for all tastes and needs. My parent enjoyed ordering their meals at a time that suited them and it was the one thing they actually looked forward to during their stays.
To this end, I feel one of your Food Services staff really deserves mention:
Chermaine - she got to know my parent over the years and has always looked after them so well. Charmaine goes above and beyond and even pops up to visit with my parent when she can. It is the highlight of my parent's day whenever they're in the hospital.
Charmaine remembers the little things my parent likes and tries to make sure they're available for them whether she's on duty or not. I notice Charmaine seems to be like that with all the patients. In my opinion, she really is a gem and it is these little things, I believe, that help with patient recovery.
I'm hoping my parent won't need to go back in for a while, but if they do, I can relax knowing they will be in the best of hands.
Many thanks.
