I was admitted early in 2020 very unwell & from the get-go, the staff were unbelievable (in a fantastic way). I had a team of professionals surrounding me, keeping me informed and showing genuine care, compassion and thorough knowledge and skills (I used to be a nurse so had some idea of what should happen).
I cannot thank these people who were involved in my care; Dr Cliff in ED, all the nurses in ED (too many names to remember sorry), the PCA staff (who had to clean up my vomit - so sorry!). Then the amazing staff on the surgical ward from the very dedicated, caring Drs such as Dr Heidi and specialist Dr Sebastian (who were both so informative and each have such a lovely bedside manner & took the time to explain things to my family so they felt involved & looked after also!). There are others who I cannot remember names of - apologies!
Nurse Megan in the surgical ward was so lovely, efficient & thorough also. Please thank all the team in the hospital who had anything to do with my care as honestly cannot fault any of it and during a very difficult time for myself and my family. I felt very relieved to be in such good hands.
The ICU staff were also brilliant - please pass on my special thanks to them all! I believe you all deserve a pay rise for the amazing jobs that the whole team do.
I am a very happy patient and am now doing very well in my recovery from major surgery and progressing with my chemotherapy regime currently. I know that this could have been a very different outcome if it was not for the fact that I was simply so well looked after by the superb team at your hospital.
Please make sure these people get the accolades they deserve as they need to know the difference they made to me and how grateful I am.
With the very best regards
Very grateful patient,
Australind resident
