The Sydney Eye Hospital has a very long waiting queue in my opinion, for check-in and re-booking. Patients have been told to have a number and wait, even though they already have appointment at scheduled time. The appointment letter stated that they will not be checking in for patient 10 minutes before their appointment time but I feel it takes at least half an hour before their ticket number is called.
Front desk staff has to answer query, telephone, check-in, re-booking so makes the processing time extremely in-efficient. I believe that because of this, big backlog is created. In my opinion, it would be wise to have someone dedicated to make re-booking, so that patients do not need to wait around to have their number called, as I believe the re-booking processing time is significantly less than check-in & queries.
There was no interpreter booked, even though the appointment letter stated Yes. Now I need to go back again, just for risk/benefit and consents collection.
