Initially, I commenced my Chemotherapy through Bendigo Health in Bendigo (a distance of well over 150km, one way - making a day trip of around 300kms). We didn’t mind travelling as we were prepared to follow the expert advice from Bendigo Health.
One morning last September, a very enthusiastic Oncology Nurse by the name of Cindy called us (me, being the patient) to invite us to come into Kerang and have a chat about the Oncology Department with a view to considering having my remaining 9 Chemotherapy Sessions in Kerang.
Cindy provided an insightful overview and summary of the benefits by attending Kerang and after a little hesitation, my spouse and I agreed to travel to Kerang every 3 weeks; what a wonderful decision that became.
The Oncology Team in Kerang were nothing short of amazing in my opinion. They made me feel so welcome, that my life was worth the fight through Chemotherapy and every minute in attendance was nothing short of enjoyment.
All the nurses and hospital staff were wonderful, I actually looked forward to attending every session.
Hats off to Cindy and her truly amazing Team 👌👏🙏🏼😄
Having this facility available in Rural Victoria is nothing short of a miracle.
