"A procedure at Wonthaggi Hospital"

About: Wonthaggi Hospital / Acute Ward

(as the patient),

Overall, the service provided at BCH is first-rate, in my opinion. I was very pleased with the nursing care I received. However, it seemed the junior doctor who tried to insert the cannular failed, causing extreme pain and bleeding. The anaesthetist noticed and quickly stepped in to do the insertion with little pain. The visiting specialists also do an amazing job, in my opinion.

Dear greenet34,

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback - it sounds like everything went pretty well except for the initial cannula insertion. Please accept my sincere apologies that we caused you pain and inconvenience.

We will follow up with the junior doctor and provide some additional training opportunities. We are very pleased to have such skilled medical specialists supporting our local community and I am pleased the Anaesthetist provided the appropriate support and intervention.

I hope your recovery is progressing well.

Kind Regards, Jan
