From the moment l knew l had to have this procedure, l was made to feel comfortable and at ease; from the initial interview with the nurse at Kerang District Health to the anaesthetist who went through everything l needed to know, to the day of the procedure.
When l arrived, l was met by a friendly nurse who explained once again what was going to happen and given privacy and made to feel very comfortable. l was taken to the room just outside the theatre and had the needle port put in place, then taken into theatre, l did not feel for one moment anxious, the next thing l know l am awake, the nurse is by my side, and welcomed me back, l was asked if l was comfortable, which l was if l wanted to roll onto my back, l didn't.
After a few minutes, l was wheeled back to my room/area, monitored and given a cuppa and sandwiches, after a period of time l was checked out once again and told l could get dressed while they called my daughter to come to pick me up.
l cannot fault any of the staff, or procedures that were performed on/to me, they made an embarrassing procedure feel like a walk in the park.
THANK YOU, THEATRE STAFF OF KERANG DISTRICT HEALTH.
