Day Procedure Unit

About: Bunbury Hospital

(as the patient),

Food - all meals were fantastic.

No nurses yelled at me yet!

Comfortable surroundings.

I believe the people in power need to come and work on the wards to understand what the problems can cause for the staff.

The facilities provided need upgrading in my opinion. 1 shower & 3 toilets are not enough for an overnight stay. No facilities, (no TV). 

Upgrades on parking? Need to upgrade the Day Procedure Unit in my opinion.

Dear hekare33,

Thank you for your feedback regarding the Day Procedure Unit. It is good to hear that the food is good and you found the surroundings comfortable.

In regards to the facilities and amenities needing an upgrade, there is planning occurring at this time to upgrade the facility, including the surgical areas and car parking at Bunbury Hospital, with a total of $60.8 million total investment committed by the Minister for Health on the 5th August 2020. We do get consumer input into all new upgrades and will certainly take your feedback into account.

As Operations Manager new to Bunbury Hospital I have also started working on the Wards and talking to patients, staff and visitors so that I have a good understanding of the day to day issues.

Dear hekare33,

As an update from your post and planned changes I mentioned, I wanted to let you know that Bunbury Hospital has appointed a new qualified and very experienced Nurse Manager of Surgical Services. We have also appointed a senior nurse who will provide oversight and support to the Day Surgery area to help improve the communication, efficiency and experience for patients having their procedures and the support to staff working in the area.
