"Calm Birthing Course"

About: Bunbury Hospital Busselton Health Campus

(as the patient),

Earlier this year I completed the Calm Birthing (Hypnobirthing Australia) Course online through Bunbury Hospital with Antenatal Education Coordinator, Kasey, in preparation for the birth of my second child.

I had not had a smooth experience with my first and was looking for ways to educate myself more as I was hoping for a VBAC this time around.

Both the course and the way in which Kasey delivered the content were amazing. A game-changer for myself and my partner. The course was offered via Zoom because of COVID but this was very well suited to us as we had our firstborn at home and it also meant that we did not have to travel 100kms either way to access it.

I did achieve a VBAC and I couldn't be more proud! I feel super empowered by my experience of birth and I just can't get over how differently I feel this time both mentally and physically. I attribute a huge part of this to the things I learnt and the shift in positive thinking I experienced from completing the course.

Dear Happy Empowered Mum,

COVID has certainly brought with it some challenges but it has also created some fantastic opportunities. The introduction of these fantastic classes via VC is one of them. We all have such pressures on our time that not having to travel 100km each way to attend, is a great bonus.

I am so pleased that you achieved a VBAC, and you should be proud of yourself. Kasey is such a dynamic and passionate facilitator and I will ensure your kind words are passed on. She too will be excited to hear of your achievement.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences and I wish you all the best as you juggle a household of two children. I am sure Kasey’s strategies will continue to be useful throughout your parenting journey.
