"Lack of knowledge"

About: Patient Assisted Travel Scheme - WACHS Great Southern

(as the patient),

Based on my experience, I am appalled at the lack of knowledge that the Albany PATS team give out. I recently had to use the service for the first time after a cancer diagnosis. The first staff member didn't know the formula needed. Then when their senior staff member came to help, in my opinion, they were equally as useless.

I thought this service was to help patients, not leave them feeling helpless.

Dear Helpless Patient,

Thank you for sharing your experience about the staff at Albany PATS on Care Opinion. I am very sorry to learn that the service left you feeling helpless. This is not the standard of care and professionalism we strive for as a health service and I am pleased that you reached out to us.

I would be very grateful if you would contact me so that we can discuss what happened and what we can do to help. This may also help ensure that this does not happen again. You can contact me on 9892 2647.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Yours sincerely,

Juan Clark
