I tripped and fell heavily on a footpath whilst walking. I hurt my knees, chest, and had hit my head, nose, chin and eyes, causing bleeding to my whole face and a blood nose. I was stunned and couldn’t move and had to get 2 people to help lift me off the path.
Attended the hospital emergency department and checked in during the afternoon and waited for around 45 minutes and a nurse came and said I needed a CT Scan to check my head and face. This was done and was told a Doctor would read it and see me shortly.
I waited and waited, still bleeding from the nose. Three a quarter hours later, I went up to reception and asked if they had forgotten. I believe it was to the receptionist's astonishment that no one had read it. 15 minutes later I saw a Doctor who asked had I seen a Doctor this afternoon (I said no) shook their head and read out the CT Scan saying I had a broken nose, swelling and cuts, and checked for hemorrhages. The doctor asked again had I seen a Doctor. I was told to go home and if I wasn’t feeling better that night to return to Emergency or attend a Medical Clinic.
I have attended twice to Doctors at the Medical Centre over the last 2 weeks. My face from forehead, eyes, broken nose cheeks and chin were totally black from all the bleeding and I have 2 small hematomas on my forehead. I am an older person and am still having headaches.
