"Rude staff member"

About: Broome Health Campus / Emergency Department

(as a carer),

Called the Emergency Department for advice on if I could bring my baby into the Emergency Department (ED) for a doctor as they had respiratory symptoms such as a blocked nose.

The staff member, in my opinion, was very rude and I felt they didn't allow me to finish my sentence before cutting me off and saying they're not a nurse and I will have to speak to them if I want advice. In my confusion, I said oh ok, I then replied that they could help me because I wanted to know if it was ok to bring my baby in, given they had respiratory symptoms. The staff member appeared remorseful but didn't apologise and advised I could bring my baby into the ED.

I am so sorry that a staff member was rude to you and did not allow you to finish what you had to say. You were doing the right thing in requesting advice to bring in your baby who had respiratory symptoms.
