About: Community Nursing (Bass Coast Health)

(as the patient),

When I attended the Continence Clinic at BCH I was greeted by a friendly and competent nurse. However, in my opinion, the clinic needs to purchase a new flow meter urgently. I completed the test only to be told by the nurse, who I felt was very embarrassed, that the equipment was not working and that I would have to return to repeat the test. I’m sure that I am not the first patient who has been inconvenienced in this way. I believe this is not the way an otherwise well-equipped hospital should work.

Dear greenet34,

I sincerely apologise. I wasn't aware that this equipment was not functioning until your post, nor was the Manager of the area, and it wasn't on our Capital request list. We will order the new piece of equipment today. I am sorry that this occurred during your visit and thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback.

Kind Regards,

Jan

Dear Jan,

Thank you for taking the time to reply to this posting.

To have such a positive and rapid response to my story gives patients like myself great confidence.

I know that the administration of BCH is in very good hands.

Dear greenet34,

I am pleased to let you know that our new equipment has arrived (images below) and the staff tell me it is a new wireless model which has made the continence assessment more accurate and efficient. Thank you so much for raising this with us and for helping us to improve our service. I hope things are going well for you.

Kind regards,

Jan
