"The noisiest and most unprofessional staff members"

About: Royal Perth Hospital / Outpatients Surgical Clinic

(as the patient),

I felt deafened by the noise, singing, laughing, and general personal chit chat of two administrative staff members.

In my opinion, it is so unprofessional to represent a hospital in that manner. I believe these two staff members need training in how to behave and act properly at their job. I felt it was a shocking experience. Most people here are unwell and, in my opinion, the last things they need to listen to is someone singing their choice of music and their daily gossip.

Dear yankeend73,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at the outpatients clinic. I am truly sorry to hear of this situation and I acknowledge that loud noises, such as singing and laughing in a hospital waiting room can create an unpleasant and insensitive environment.

I invite you to contact our Consumer Engagement Unit on 9224 1637 or email RPBG.Feedback@health.wa.gov.au so that we can discuss your concerns in more detail and feedback can be provided to the appropriate department.

Best wishes.

Dr Lesley Bennett
