The main carpark is, in my opinion, the worst that I have ever had to use. Not only is it frustrating and unsuitable for the public needs. That many people will park on grass areas which I feel is destroying, what should be beautiful areas. I believe it's about time that the carpark be upgraded ASAP with no excuses. In my opinion, the standard is equal to 1980s. I believe Rockingham has excelled in all areas, except for Rockingham Hospital. Get with the times and upgrade ASAP...I feel it is desperately needed.

Dear andromedagh86,

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback regarding parking at Rockingham General Hospital.

I value your feedback and agree that car parking availability is an important part of hospital operations, and I understand patients prefer parking close to the hospital entrances to attend appointments.

Unfortunately, the recent need to house the COVID Fever Clinic on existing parking bays has further impacted parking availability and you are correct in that this has resulted in people parking further away from the hospital on grassed areas which is not preferred.

I am pleased to advise that the Hospital is about to expand the parking on site which will increase the capacity of parking by a further 150 parking bays with works expected to commence in February/March of 2021. It is envisaged this will provide a suitable alternative to parking on grassed areas and provide much better parking access for both patients and staff at the hospital.
