About: Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital / Dermatology Clinic

So I've turned up on time for my appointment in the dermatology clinic along with many other people. I check in take a seat and an hour later I am still waiting to be seen. I understand that delays occur in clinics, however I have never waited less than an hour to see a doctor in this clinic. I believe that perhaps instead of bringing dozens of people in at the same time they could have properly ruined appointments. I feel other places seem to be able to manage it.

Dear phoenixej73,

Thank you for your feedback regarding wait times in the Dermatology clinic. I have discussed your feedback with the Deputy Nurse Co Director and Clinic Coordinator, who would like to assure you that the clinic does not book multiple patients for the same appointment slot. While there are indeed three to four patients booked for the same time, there are a matching number of registrars to run the clinic and see patients. The waiting area is also a shared space, so while there is often many patients waiting they are not all there for the same clinic.

Your time is important and I appreciate waiting can be frustrating. We are continually examining the management of our clinics and looking for ways to improve patient wait times. Unfortunately, delays do occur for a number of reasons, and in a tertiary teaching hospital, are often unpredictable.
