"Radiology appointment"

About: Kalgoorlie Health Campus / Medical Imaging

(as the patient),

I was informed on the phone from the Radiology Department that I have an appointment - it sounded like the person said 26th. When I went to my appointment, I was told my appointment was on 25th and there was no Radiologist that day.

They said I should have received a text the day before. When I looked at my phone, I had not received any text and when the staff member checked their computer, I believe it said no text was sent. Then I was told it is my responsibility. If I had received a text, I would have certainly attended my appointment on the correct day. Now my appointment has been rescheduled for 2 weeks time.

Dear Disappointed person,

Thank you for taking the time to share your story on Care Opinion.

I would firstly like to apologise for the inconvenience and disruption you experienced in relation to your appointment in our Radiology Department. This must have been a very frustrating time for you.

We have identified that this system failure is solely our responsibility, as the automatic messaging system failed to alert all of our medical imaging patients who had scheduled appointments for the 25th and 26th of November 2020.

I would like to assure you that we escalated this situation to our system provider and the problem has now been rectified.

Again, please accept my sincere apologies for this regrettable situation.

Yours sincerely,

Peter Tredinnick

Regional Director

WACHS Goldfields.
