It all started a few months ago. I had chest pains for most of the day, they were getting stronger but because I have GAD, kept on soldering with pain.
In the evening, my spouse came home and rushed me straight to POW. Felt embarrassed, however, when I got there I was seen by triage and from there, within half an hour, the team were there putting 4 stents in one of my arteries.
Was completely amazed by the professionalism and the coordination shown.
From here I was given the news that I would have to have surgery due to further blockages. This occurred recently. Before going in I was informed that I had to go into pre-op.
I was seen by Genevieve, she was able to calm me down and reassured me that everything would be ok. This happened on the day but it did not end there. She made follow up calls to see if I was ok. Sorry, this has been long-winded.
To Genevieve, Dr Peter, Dr Jennifer, to the special team of nurses in CTICU and to the team of nurses in D3S, thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
