"Model of care"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I have applied for care with MGP 4 or 5 as suggested by a birth centre. I was excluded from that birth centre because of a little fibroid. However, I was advised to get a referral from my GP and apply for MGP 4 or 5.

I am now 31 weeks pregnant and still, no one answered to my request. I have asked multiple midwives to check my application but they have been all unhelpful. It was very important to me. It seems they did not even care to answer to my request. I am very stressed about this situation. This is not the model of care I wanted. I felt I deserved, at least, an answer.

Dear echodg36,

I am sorry to read that you have not had contact from the Midwifery Group Practice at the King Edward Memorial Hospital.

I would encourage you to contact the Consumer Liaison Service on (08) 6458 1444 so that we can address this matter for you.

Kind regards,

Jodi Graham
