"An unexpected journey continued"

About: Fiona Stanley Hospital / State Rehabilitation Service Wards A&B, Wards 1A& 2A

(as a service user),

Following a stroke, which identified aggressive malignant brain tumours, I was transferred to Fiona Stanley State Rehab Acquired Brain Injury ward. The relief of not constant bells and alarms of the acute setting I had been in was incredible, as was seeing greenery outside my window.

The medical, nursing and allied health care I received and witnessed other patients receive, was exceptional. Celebrating rehab achievements with other patients increased the positivity for all.

Being able to share different, yet similar, experiences of our health journeys with other patients was invaluable. I cannot recommend this unit or the SRS staff as highly as they truly deserve. I thank you with all my being.
