"Exceptional Midwifery Care"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

Upon finding out I was pregnant with my second child I knew I wanted to source continuity of care with a midwifery team. Due to having some complications in my first birth, I knew I had to be cared for in the hospital setting and MGP4 was the perfect fit.

From the first interactions with the team I knew they were the right choice for me and my first appointment with my wonderful midwife Carissa put all my worries at ease. Throughout my pregnancy, I was supported, listened to and advocated for at every step of the way. Although things didn’t go exactly as plan toward the end of the pregnancy, with the help of Carissa and the red team, I had a truly empowering and healing birth which would not have been possible without their expert care. The continuity of care was what enabled me to have such a wonderful birth experience as Carissa truly knew me and what my wishes were and was even able to remind me of that when I was feeling overwhelmed.

I will forever be grateful for the care myself and my family received and the amazing experience we had. If we have another baby I will be straight on the phone to Carissa! I believe any woman is truly lucky to be looked after by her and the amazing MGP4 team, I cannot speak highly enough of the experience and I wish all pregnant woman had access to such wonderful continuity of care.

Dear maysc69,

Congratulations on the birth of your new baby, this is such a wonderful and exciting time for you and your family! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with Women and Newborn Health Service (WNHS), more specifically Midwifery Group Practice (MGP).

Our service strives to always provide quality, patient-centred care and I am so pleased to hear that the level of care that you received was of such a high standard. WNHS is extremely proud of the maternity care that is provided by our staff and the way they work with our patients to achieve positive outcomes.

We have received great feedback from our patients regarding the MGP model of care and we would certainly like to expand this service so that more women in the community can access care from the same small group of midwives throughout their pregnancy and birthing journey.

Once again, congratulations on the arrival of your new baby – I wish you and your family all the best for the future.

Kind regards

Jodi Graham
