I presented to ED as I was asked to do an emergency bloods by the specialist doctor in another hospital the previous evening during my phone consultation. The GP is always booked out a week in advance. I felt the clinician treated me like I was a crazy person during triage and said they had never heard of the tests I had been asked to get. When I protested that this was not helpful I felt they aggressively got up and said they would find someone else to triage me. The next person also did not believe me and wanted to see the phone appt.
I was told I would have to wait over an hour and basically treated with disdain. I was then left in the waiting room being physically poked by a person that was clearly very intoxicated and felt very unsafe. No staff were around but seen laughing in the corridor. Apparently, there was an emergency but in my opinion, did not look like it. The intoxicated patient then let in another person without them going through the covid checks and went out.
Unacceptable this is a public hospital especially when you compare it with a metro hospital where you are treated with respect and given professional care. Last time I was in ED was also awful how they speak to you.
"ED disrespectfully treated"
