About: Western Wheatbelt Primary Health Service

(as a parent/guardian),

We have been referred to a paediatrician by OT, GP and school psychologist. The referral was over 12 months ago.

I believe the Wheatbelt health service hasn't had a full-time paediatrician in this time. They are still unable to give a time frame as to when a paediatrician will be appointed to the area and therefore pick up the case load. In the meantime, my child and family are struggling daily. I feel this isn't good enough for such a vast area to not have a paediatrician available. I believe we aren't the only family in need.

Dear omegawf75,

Thank you for sharing your story. I am sorry to read of your disappointment with our public paediatrician service in Moora.

We acknowledge this gap in service and have been working with the Perth Children's Hospital to provide this visiting specialist service. We have been working hard to get this important service for Moora and have been able to secure some paediatrician clinics within the first half of 2021.
