"My sick parent"

About: Grafton Base Hospital / Accident & emergency Grafton Base Hospital / General medicine

(as a service user),

My patent has had their third stroke and was presented with, who I felt were, horrible horrible nurses and doctors. My parent was unable to walk and even fell out of their wheelchair, unable to get up. I believe my parent had a nurse standing over the top of them telling them to get up with my parent then responding saying they can’t and needing help. I believe the nurse offered no help and was saying terrible things like to hurry up because their coffee was getting cold.

In my opinion, they showed no compassion whatsoever. My parent was very vulnerable and has never been treated with such disgust in all their life. In the end, I believe my parent was kicked out and told not to come back.

My parent is now at home feeling even more sick then when they originally first came in. I’m so beyond frustrated and disgusted what I’ve witnessed.

In my opinion, Grafton hospital should be ashamed of this, every nurse and doctor who treated my parent should be stripped of their licenses so incredibly unprofessional. You are the people that people come to when they are at some of their most vulnerable times ever and to be looked down upon and treated with such disrespect is unbelievable. I feel so helpless and powerless watching my parent be treated like an animal; mind you even an animal shouldn’t be treated with such disgust. In my opinion, the staff who treated my parent shouldn't work in a hospital or any medical field!
