My adult child was taken by ambulance to Box Hill hospital after suffering a seizure behind the wheel. They were blood tested which came back clear, asked a few questions and told they could rule out a brain tumour. The hospital sent them home 5 hours later while they were still dazed with no checkout papers and told they will contact my child for tests.

That was less than a month ago and we have rung twice and still no reply. They did not do an MRI or ECG!  My child is a young adult with no previous history of seizures. What is going on at that place?

Dear indiarr43,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share these comments regarding the experience your child had when attending the Eastern Health’s Box Hill Hospital.

I’m sorry you and your adult child were left with questions regarding the ongoing care needs such as MRIs, EEGs at the like.

I too have outstanding questions and in order for us to follow up your child’s particular circumstances, I would like to invite them to contact one of our Patient Relations Advisors in the Eastern Health Centre for Patient Experience either by calling 1800 EASTERN or by emailing feedback@easternhealth.org.au. If they choose to call please be aware that it is possible that the Patient Relations Advisors may be on another call at the time they ring and if so they will be invited to leave a message so their call can be returned.

I hope we hear from them soon and thank you again for raising these concerns.
