"Lives Lived Well Woolloongabba Day Program"

About: Lives Lived Well - Woolloongabba

(as a service user),

After returning home from attending with my children Logan Family Recovery I felt as though we or I still desperately needed our hands held a little longer.

The time in between LFR and starting at the Day Program was extremely challenging with little or no support networks, not working, kids at home on school holidays. Just woke up and felt lost and without purpose.

So by attending the Day Program and kids returning to school gave me a reason to get up and get dressed to show up, to be accountable to be with like-minded people and to have the support that I desperately desired.

Kirsty my program facilitator has been an absolute lifeline. I felt like I could build on a connection and trust my children's and my lives with Kirsty. We were able to goal set, prioritise, work through life's challenges and life's curveballs. I feel like Kirsty held my hand through real-life's marathon and pushed me on and cheered from the sidelines and told me when to rest. I'd recommend this to anyone out there who is losing hope, who is confused, overwhelmed, lost unsure of which way to turn or what to do through addiction, mental health and just this rollercoaster that we call life.

Hello Oceans7,

Thank you for telling us about your experiences of joining Lives Lived Well's programs. First, at Logan Family Recovery and then with the Day Rehab Program at Woollongabba. It takes a lot of courage to put your hand up and recognise that you need some further support and well done for taking the steps to get it. The time between programs sounds "extremely challenging" as you put it. It is good to know it gave you some purpose and enabled you to show up and be accountable with like-minded others.

Thank you, too, for your recognition of Kirsty's support and connection to you and your family. I will make sure she sees your comments.

Finally, thank you for your recommendation of these programs to others who may be in similar circumstances.

I wish you all the best for the next stage of your life journey.

Warm regards

Gerard
