"Breast Ultrasound Services"

About: Hedland Health Campus / Outpatients

(as the patient),

GP confirmed mass in breast and referred for ultrasound at Hedland Health Campus as private ultrasound is no longer available.

On calling to make appointment, one would have hoped as soon as practicable, informed that the Sonographer this week at the hospital is not qualified to do breast scans and that a qualified sonographer would be available in a week.

Not only is there no longer any choice of service in Hedland except the hospital, now it seems you have to wait a week for diagnosis and then additional time to commence any care required.

Dear Uncalm Mammories,

I am sorry that the issue regarding ultrasound availability has caused you undue stress. Unfortunately, the private practice has ceased in Port Hedland and this has had some impact on available appointments at Hedland Health Campus.

I understand the urgency with which you would want this investigation completed and would like to assure you that there are alternatives. Could you please call me on 91741038 so I can discuss these alternatives with you?

Kind Regards

Louise Steedman
