"The disgusting food in hospitals"

About: Angliss Hospital Maroondah Hospital

(as a relative),

My relative was taken to hospital with bad breathing. They have unfortunately been found to have cancer. They went to the Angliss Hospital in Upper Ferntree Gully. My relative was then transferred to Maroondah Hospital.

My gripe is that sick people need nourishment. In my opinion, the food people are given is appalling. My relative lost 4kg at the Angliss in not many days and I felt Maroondah was not much better.

My relative won't recover but they still deserve decent food. I ended up bringing food in I had made. I believe this is a serious issue that every hospital is ignoring. I will be writing to the minister for health and the opposition minister as I am passionate about this.

Thank you for taking the time to share these comments regarding the food your relative received whilst they were in Eastern Health's Angliss and Maroondah hospitals. I'm sorry you feel the food is not at the level it should be.

Hospitals have many supports available to assist in maintaining a person's nutritional status and I would like to check to see if these were implemented for them.
