I was admitted to hospital recently through emergency and placed on the surgical ward the next day. As anyone knows, being in hospital is hard mentally and physically and the feeling of sometimes being alone can sometimes feel overwhelming
I was having a really hard night on the second night and was trying hard to fall asleep but to no avail.
I asked the nurse who was looking after me whose name is Rebecca, or Bec for short, if it was possible to get a cup of tea. This was done with absolutely no problem and it was very much appreciated
When Rebecca bought my drink back I was struggling to hold in my emotions and my build-up of worry and concern finally let go and I am not afraid to admit it bought me to tears
Rebecca took time out of her busy night to spend time talking to me and calmly reassuring me that things are going to get better and even took the time to organise someone to talk to me.
At a time when I was feeling upset and down, the kindness and compassion that Rebecca showed me was truly amazing and uplifting and honestly I appreciate the fact that Rebecca was such a caring and compassionate lady.
I am going to say if the world had more amazing and compassion shown by Rebecca, we would be living in a better place.
Thank you for being such a beautiful amazing lady Rebecca and your kindness is not forgotten.
"Above and beyond care"
