I had my first midwifery appointment at Albany Hospital at 26 weeks. It was with a very lovely midwife who answered all my questions and I didn't feel rushed at all. I was, however, very disappointed that I was not allowed a support person (i.e. my partner) with me to the appointment, despite other clinics in the hospital I believe allowing support persons.
I believe it is sometimes a struggle for the fathers to feel connected to the pregnancy and therefore, I felt like it was very important for him to be included in this, as well as I would have appreciated the support he provides me.
