Recently, I attended Collie Hospital for a Gastroscopy procedure.
I felt all of the human things before going in... angst, anxiety, nervousness. The process was quite seamless, however I found that communication from reception to the nurses could have been improved as there were just some little details that were missed.
In my opinion, the support and energy from the nurses in theatre at Collie Hospital was amazing! They made me feel very comfortable and safe. I was waiting for about 2 hours before my procedure and was overwhelmed with emotions. One of the nurses tended to me in a very caring manner. I do however wish that I was told the wait was going to be so long as I would have brought a book or something with me as time felt like it went forever and my anxiety continued to build.
The actual procedure itself went fantastically for me. I fell asleep rather quickly and was greeted warmly when I woke up. And the way I was taken care of after was just wonderful. A really really sweet bunch of nurses that I was privileged to experience.
