"Lives Lived Well, Woolloongabba"

About: Lives Lived Well - Woolloongabba

(as a service user),

I recently completed the 3-4 week Lives Lived Well AOD recovery day program at Woolloongabba, Brisbane.

Last year I attended a similar program run by a similar service in Melbourne. It was excellent and it helped me a lot in recovery from alcohol addiction but recently needed some further support when I moved to Brisbane.

I would like to give the highest recommendation to this day program. I believe the facilitators/counsellors are highly trained, experienced and knowledgeable. Most importantly, they are very caring and totally non-judgemental.

In my opinion, if a person was considering whether to do this program or not, do not hesitate. I believe you will be warmly welcomed and treated with great respect, care and confidentiality, no matter your age,  substance of choice, past history or current life situation.

I believe you will learn a lot in the group sessions (and even have a bit of fun). I found the learning to be very practical and offers us many skills and strategies and our individual needs can be met by one-on-one sessions with a counsellor/ case manager.

I watched my fellow participants develop much confidence and change in positive ways and I loved the interaction with them. My self-esteem was really boosted. I think if we feel stronger and better about ourselves, we are more likely to create new habits and move ahead in our lives.  Even though I had done a similar course before, I still learned a lot more again, from this experience.

Hello guidees93,

Thank you for your comments about your attendance at Lives Lived Well's Woolloongabba Day Program and sharing your experience about attending other similar programs in Melbourne.

Realising you needed some further support is a great insight. When we begin the process of changing our lives we learn new things and they enable us to make changes. As we integrate that change we can come to realise there is more to know and learn about ourselves and that we may need to revisit existing learnings so we can consolidate the gains. It takes courage and perseverance to take that step and I want to acknowledge you for that. It is great to know you gained new learnings in this program and feel stronger in yourself.

Thank you for recommending this Lives Lived Well service to other people.

Finally, thank you for acknowledging the staff - their knowledge, experience and skill - as well as their confidentiality, respect, care and non-judgmental approach. I will make sure they are aware of your comments. Your acknowledgment of fellow participants and the contribution you all make to each other is also appreciated.

I wish you all the best for the next steps in your life.

Regards

Gerard
