(as a parent/guardian),

Recently my daughter needed to attend the AHC Emergency Department.

My daughter was in a lot of pain and I can honestly say the care, compassion and communication from all staff we encountered was exceptional from triage all the way to her admission in the short stay unit.  

We were well cared for by the amazing nursing staff, medical staff and support staff throughout the entire journey.

Special thanks to nurses Kate, Claire, Harsha in ED who were so caring and kept us in the loop with everything that was occurring. Nurse Gioia provided us amazing information when we were admitted to the short stay unit, including a lot of detail on care call which made me confident my daughter was in very safe hands.

Dr Alec who we saw was so compassionate, listened to us, provided ongoing updates to care being provided and a plan going forward.  We also had a Jnr Dr come to insert a drip. During this, I felt Dr Alec provided excellent support and advice to the Jnr Dr and at no time did my daughter or I feel worried that a Jnr was working on her.

Thank you for the best of care during a worrying time. We are warmed knowing the level of care we have in place within this hospital.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience in the Emergency Department on the Albany Health Campus. Emergency Departments can seem to people unfamiliar with them as quite scary places so it is really pleasing to hear that the team kept you in the loop and reassured throughout your daughter’s ED experience. Kindness and compassion are essential tools for us.

We will ensure that all staff see your feedback but in particular those staff you have named.

We hope your daughter is recovering well.
