I had walked a big road before I decided that I had to change my habits for the last time. My past is full of roads that some people wouldn't want to travel on but I have learned the hardest way that has made me the strong woman that I am today and I was able to make and change from a chrysalis to nearly a beautiful butterfly.
I was in tears every time I used although I was using drugs and alcohol to self medicate from the trauma of my past, it was time to grow and heal so I can be the best mother I can be to my three children; that is my worth for this life to be a mother and always has been.
I arrived at Lives Lived Well and was shocked to see the beautiful accommodation that they provide for families and single mums like me with addiction issues. In my experience, the staff support workers go above and beyond to help me on my journey here. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to learn the skills to keep on the right track as well as get so much help mentally and from a psychiatrist's point of view, as well with regular routine meetings and groups.
I just can't give Lives lived Wells Family Recovery Unit enough praise and thank you. I wish that there were more places like this in Australia to come to because I believe it is best children stay with the parent. My daughter had the best experience here. She loved the times that she had with the staff members and I think she is going to miss a few support workers a lot.
I believe the routine helped my daughter be the best daughter she can be and I have seen her grow so much in a positive way. We were very isolated and she got to know how to socialize and how to communicate with adults and other children. The local Kindy that works with the families here was amazing. It's the best childcare I have seen with loving staff and director. Many many thanks for everything that I received. I don't know how to put it into words how I feel but I'm so proud and I'm confident now to begin the next journey, so much more confident and healthier thanks to LFR.
