My grandmother was in an aged care service in absolute distress with delirium and pain with pneumonia.
She was palliative. Unfortunately the aged care service did not have anything to help her.
When grandma arrived at Harvey Hospital the staff were so quick to get her comfortable and in a palliative room. The staff recognised grandma from a previous admission and you could see the genuine care from them. They made sure grandma was comfortable, regularly checked in with the family, kept the family informed, allowed grandma to have as many family as we wanted in the room with her overnight, with music going and pup in the room.
The care, compassion and empathy from the nursing, medical and PCA staff on grandma's initial admission and her last days is incredible
Thank you Harvey Hospital staff for making this time that much easier and nicer for grandma.
