Talk about country hospitality, this hospital still has home cooking. I believe the question most asked after 'how are you?' is 'how's the food?'. Well I'm glad to say in my opinion, it's terrific. It's not pre packaged and breakfast in the morning was just like being at home eating your hot creamy porridge with a cold juice and maybe a slice of toast. I feel they make the best salad sandwiches in the land for lunch, and for dinner you have a wide healthy heart choice of roasts etc. Morning and afternoon tea homemade scones are delicious.
The nursing staff I found to be very understanding, kind hearted and caring, and went beyond what they have to, for example, I understand one nurse dropped off some washing for a patient to their house only in their country! I've unfortunately in my time been to a few hospitals and found the level of care at Kerang hospital to be of an extremely high standard. As well as their aftercare. Their physio also gave excellent friendly and healthy physical care daily which was very appreciated. Also the welfare nurse made sure I was completely ready and safe to go home. Without her help I believe I'd still be languishing in hospital. Thank you Kerang Hospital.
