"Kerang Hospital"

About: Kerang Hospital

(as the patient),

Talk about country hospitality, this hospital still has home cooking. I believe the question most asked after 'how are you?' is 'how's the food?'. Well I'm glad to say in my opinion, it's terrific. It's not pre packaged and breakfast in the morning was just like being at home eating your hot creamy porridge with a cold juice and maybe a slice of toast. I feel they make the best salad sandwiches in the land for lunch, and for dinner you have a wide healthy heart choice of roasts etc. Morning and afternoon tea homemade scones are delicious.

The nursing staff I found to be very understanding, kind hearted and caring, and went beyond what they have to, for example, I understand one nurse dropped off some washing for a patient to their house only in their country! I've unfortunately in my time been to a few hospitals and found the level of care at Kerang hospital to be of an extremely high standard. As well as their aftercare. Their physio also gave excellent friendly and healthy physical care daily which was very appreciated. Also the welfare nurse made sure I was completely ready and safe to go home. Without her help I believe I'd still be languishing in hospital. Thank you Kerang Hospital.

Dear centaurustq46,

That's such fabulous feedback! I really appreciate the wonderful compliments and the gratitude you have for our amazing staff across different disciplines such as catering, nursing and allied health during your recent hospital stay. Rural health care is pretty exceptional.

We can all attest that the food and the KDH catering team are amazing however it is even more powerful hearing that from a former patient. We are very lucky!

It is wonderful to hear the words 'understanding', kind-hearted',' caring' and 'above and beyond' when you are talking about the nursing and allied health care teams. Our staff always go that extra mile to ensure that patient/clients/consumers are well supported and cared for including a thorough discharge planning process.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this valuable feedback. I will be sure to pass this on to all staff involved.

I wish you all the best.

Kind regards,

Kellie

Dear centaurustq46,

Thankyou for taking the time to give us such wonderful feedback. As a hospital we really pride ourselves on the food we provide. I will make sure I pass this feedback onto all the staff.

We strive to provide home-like cooking and pride ourselves that everything is made on site. Currently we are trying to implement new menus which is very exciting for the staff, residents and patients.

Wishing you all the best

Kind regards

Wendy

Dear centaurustq46,

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback, about your recent hospital stay at Kerang District Health. It is very pleasing to hear that the nursing staff were very understanding, kind hearted and caring, as these qualities are in line with our organisations values of Caring, Accountability, Respect and Excellence. We are very fortunate to have such a committed and caring workforce, that are willing to go above and beyond for our patients, residents and consumers.

Providing excellent rural healthcare is often a challenge, so it is also pleasing to be acknowledged for this.

I must agree with you, the meals cooked and provided by the Catering and Domestic team are excellent, and just like home cooking!

I wish you all the best in your continued recovery, and are pleased to know that our Allied Health team and Discharge Planning team have given you the best possible assistance and preparedness for going home.

Best Regards

Megan
