"Level of care and friendliness in short stay"

About: Wonthaggi Hospital / Emergency Department Wonthaggi Hospital / Short Stay Unit

(as the patient),

I have had two hospital visits to emergency recently, one in Melbourne and one at Bass coast while on holidays at Phillip Island. The experiences were very different.

From the moment we walked up to the hospital early in the morning, I was greeted by a friendly man who popped me in a wheel chair and took me to reception. I was seen to straight away and placed into a comfy bed in the short stay ward. I felt the team of male and female nurses were so friendly and funny. The lovely young doctor was, in my opinion, also very patient and caring and I did not feel rushed. He and the team really listened to me and I felt very cared for.

I was blown away by the level of care and friendliness shown to me. I would never hesitate to go back to them, though I hopefully will never have too!

I was in short stay and I want to thank the gorgeous team for their care.

Dear Blueberry,

Thank you! It's so lovely for our ED team to receive such lovely feedback, and I thank you for taking the time out of your holidays to do so - the staff will be very chuffed to read your post. I hope you got to enjoy the beautiful Bass Coast during your break, and whilst we also hope (in the nicest possible way) that we don't see you again, suffice to say our door is always open:)

All the best! Jan.
