Recently my mum had a stay at SCGH WA prior to dying last month.
She was admitted from the ED a week earlier to Ward 74.
We experienced the most wonderful care to mum and also my dad, sisters and myself. Everyone involved with her care were caring, compassionate, professional and made our journey as pleasant as was possible.
Mum was under 3 Medical Teams (MAU, Psycho-Geriatricians and Palliative Care). Every member of every team was special. They listened, they supported and they cared. All the Nursing Staff we interacted with were similar. I feel all the ancillary staff we saw, from Social Work through to our lovely PCA (Jill who kept us in coffee vouchers), were very special individuals.
I cannot thank each and every one of them enough for the journey they took us through. It is a journey no-one wants to have to live through with their loved one, but we were fortunate enough to have such amazing care and support around us. Many thanks to all the staff of Ward 74.
