My husband and I came into Fiona Stanley Hospital for our booked induction at 39 weeks pregnant. Little did we know that it was going to be a long journey ahead to bring our son into the world. Our induction took 40 hours before I was ready for the oxytocin drip. I was in active labour for 18 hours and due to our baby’s positioning we ended up having an emergency cesarean.
We felt we were given exceptional care by all involved from the induction midwives to the labour suite midwives, the theatre/obstetrics team, the postnatal team on the maternity ward and the multidisciplinary teams. At every point in our time at FSH we felt we were given exceptional care. We were always informed and included in decisions that were made. They took the time to ensure we had everything we needed before leaving. They were empathetic and kind to us in a stressful situation making us feel cared for at every stage. We are so grateful to have been able to bring our son healthy and happy into the world.
We would like to thank the team across the FSH maternity units for their brilliant care for our family. We appreciate all that you do and even under extreme pressure being so busy we felt you were able to provide such amazing care to us as first time parents. Even through a stressful time/experience for us we believe you all gave us the best start to parenthood, thank you!
