So sad for the Residents of Kirrak House and Griffith Point Lodge.

Still locked away from families after how many days?

I believe residents are vaccinated, yet not allowed to go outside (where in my opinion, the risk is at least 20 times less than indoors as the CHO states) and sit in the sun and fresh air, sit 1.5m from family, family wearing masks, on the last sunny and dry afternoon for the next 5 days.

Where is the risk to the resident?

Dear Driver,

Thank you for posting your concerns. I am assuming that you weren't on the zoom that I was just on today with all the residents and families at GPL. and Kirrak? These questions were asked at that session and I thought that I had answered them all in as much detail as I could.

We are currently following the rules set out in the State and Commonwealth directives, and we will continue to do everything we can do to make sure we keep our residents and staff safe. We are very conscious that this Delta variant is much more contagious than previously - we are also very aware that there are still many COVID contacts isolating across the State which means we are not completely out of the woods.

All of this makes us very protective of our residents and staff, in what is a terribly tricky time. Where there are individual resident concerns, or when end of life care or clinical issues are a concern, our principle is to connect residents and relatives wherever we can.
