"Immunisations"

About: COVID19 Vaccination Clinic - Wonthaggi

(as a service user),

My daughter is immune-compromised and wanted to be immunised. I contacted BCH and was told that we could go to the town hall and have it done.  The staff there were amazing and extremely helpful and while I was waiting outside for my daughter, there was a member of the public who came up to the security person and to ask if they could get the Pfizer shot as they don't want to infect their grandparent who has lung disease.

The security person, whose name is Mick, was so kind and caring and went to see if there were any doses available as it was near closing time. There was so he came back to the young person who, it turned out, was only a teenager. Parental consent was needed and when the young person called their parent, who I believe was giving the teenager a hard time, Mick spoke to the parent and then they were on their way to give consent.

It was such an amazing thing to witness and I just wanted to say how much we appreciate the professionalism and kindness of all the staff at the town hall immunisation, especially considering that it was a Saturday and, as I understand it, they were willing to give up their weekend to make this important initiative available out of hours.

Dear induseg83,

Thank you! You have so beautifully captured the complexity of the vaccination clinic. We are blessed to have an A team working in the Town Hall to make sure our local community members are able to access a jab. There are complex rules to follow, and these change every week, but the Vaccination team is keen to do everything we can to get a vaccination into eligible arms.

Alice is the Manager of the Vaccination service and I know she will pass your feedback on to the staff - they will be chuffed. Thank you for getting vaccinated!!! It is our best way to get to the other side.:)

Yours with Kindness, Jan
