"Orthopaedics for humerus"

About: Kalgoorlie Health Campus / Emergency Department Kalgoorlie Health Campus / Kalgoorlie Outpatient Clinic

(as the patient),

Following a fall at Leinster, was assessed and then transferred to Kalgoorlie arrived by air ambulance (RFS) in 12 minutes and then to A&E for assessment and additional pain relief. From there I was transferred to ward 10. From the time I arrived until discharge I found all staff very caring and helpful. My pain was managed with regular and breakthrough medication, on a regular basis.

I was given assistance with all my ADL's from nursing staff, OT and physio, I was sent home with appropriate tools needed for my recovery. On discharge full explanation from pharmacist RE medications.

In my opinion, this hospital has given great care in all ways from all staff. The food was the best hospital food ever.

Dear humanitiesgf55,

Thank you for taking the time to share your story about the great care you received recently as a patient attending Kalgoorlie Hospital. I am proud to hear that you found our staff in the Emergency Department, Orthopaedics, Outpatients, pharmacy and the allied health to be very caring and helpful.

A fracture of the humerus, “funny bone", I am positive that you were not feeling the humour or the funniness of that injury. Ouch! So I am very pleased to hear that your comfort and pain relief was of a high consideration along your journey through the health service and was addressed according to your tolerance and comfort in a timely fashion.

I trust that you are progressing along the road of recovery and rehabilitation to gain strength and function in your injured arm.

Thank you again for your positive feedback and appreciation, I will forward it on to the teams involved in you care and our wonderful kitchen staff.

Best Regards,

Scott Jones
